阅读理解 Passage 1 New terminal— Thousands of new jobs The Athens International Airport Board announced today the building of a new terminal. The city’s airport has been struggling to cope with the increasing number of tourists flooding the capital throughout the year. The German company in charge of the airport announced the creation of thousands of working positions prior to and after the opening of the new terminal, anticipated later next year. The job offered will help relieve the capital and the country of one of its major problems: unemployment. Indeed, Athens ranks third in the list of the European Union capitals with high unemployment rates among young adults. “ This new venture will certainly give work to thousands of young people who are striving to make ends meet in one of Europe’s most expensive capitals,” says the Mayor.
