Synopsis – The Little Mermaid
故事简介——小美人鱼
Far out at sea at the bottom of the ocean lies the Ocean King’s castle. The king has six daughters, one more beautiful than the other. When they reach the age of fifteen they are allowed to the surface to see the world above the ocean.
在大洋深处的海底坐落着海洋之王的城堡。海王一共有六个女儿，个个长得美丽动人。只有年满十五周岁的时候，她们才可获准来到海面看一看大海之外的世界。
When it becomes the youngest mermaid’s turn, she meets a prince on board a ship and falls in love with him. A storm makes the ship sink and the prince nearly drowns, however, he is rescued by the mermaid, who leaves him at shore.
当最小的女儿小美人鱼来到海面时，她遇见了船上的一位人类王子，并深深地爱上了他。突如其来的暴风雨让王子乘坐的船沉入了海底，王子也几乎溺水身亡，小美人鱼救下了王子并将他送到海滩上。
Back at the Ocean Kingdom, the young mermaid cannot forget the prince. Her grandmother tells her that humans have an immortal soul. The little mermaid chooses that she wants to become human and asks the sea witch for help. She is given a magic potion to drink – but in return she must sacrifice her beautiful voice, so the witch cuts out her tongue.
回到海底王国后，小美人鱼始终无法忘记那位王子。她的祖母告诉她，人类拥有不朽的灵魂。小美人鱼决定要变成人类，并寻求海巫的帮助。海巫拿出一种魔法药水让她喝下——但小美人鱼必须要割掉舌头，牺牲自己美妙的声音来换取。
The little mermaid is transformed and seeks out her prince who finds the beautiful, silent girl adorable. If the little mermaid is to obtain immortality, the prince must marry her. If not, she will die. Instead, he marries the princess from the neighboring kingdom.
喝下药水后小美人鱼变成了人类，并找到了那位王子，而王子也正在寻找那个美丽又沉默的可爱女孩儿。如果小美人鱼想要获得永生，王子必须要先娶她为妻。否则小美人鱼将会死去。但是不幸的是，王子和邻国的一位公主结为了夫妻。
The mermaid’s sisters have sought the sea witch for help and they have been given a knife that the little mermaid must stab through the heart of the prince if she wishes to spair her own life and again become mermaid.
小美人鱼的姐姐们向海巫寻求帮助，海巫给了她们一把刀，如果小美人鱼想要回到以前的生活，她就必须用这把刀刺穿王子的心脏。
The little mermaid cannot bring herself to kill the prince. Due to her sacrifice and unselfish love she is turned into a spirit of the air - eventually allowing her to be granted an immortal soul.
小美人鱼不忍心杀死王子。最终因为自我牺牲和无私的爱，她变成了空中的精灵——最终也获得了不朽的灵魂。
